Baby Taggie Giraffe

meg-made baby taggie giraffe

My friend Saraid is nearing the end of her pregnancy and I am nesting right along with her!

I'd love nothing more than to be in Brisbane with her as she prepares for this hugely exciting time, choosing crib-beddng, painting the nursery and rubbing her beautiful big belly (as all pregnant ladies love).

But, as I am in London, with a well feathered (and at-capacity nest), I am helping to feather Saraid's nest instead!!

I made this little sweet guy a few months ago and sent it along with the bunting that I made for her nursery.

Saraid has chosen a theme of fuchsia and navy in the nursery and wanted a bright and fun bunting to hang on the wall above the crib.

I've kind of adopted a little giraffe theme on to Saraid's unsuspecting baby, because, well, with a mama who is over 6 foot tall, I'm predicting a beautiful and looooong little girl!! I coordinated the giraffe to be in theme too (of course) and cannot wait to see her little bub grabbing and chewing on it soon!

I was going to show my baby giraffe taggie tutorial but my friend Tammy over at Incomparable Buttons made one the same week I made this for Saraid, so I thought I would just send you over to her instead!! The only tricky part is remembering to put the ribbons on the inside while you are sewing around the edges!

I had a hard time parting with this sweet little giraffe, and Maddie thought he was for her too (on account of me testing it all out in her room!!) but it helps me feel a little less far away at times like these, so I gave him one last little cuddle and sent all my cuddles with him all the way to Brisbane.
